We’re about to close the book on 2020. It has been an extraordinary year in too many ways to name. There is no question that this year has been an inflection point that none of us will forget any time soon. For us at First Image, this year has brought both incredible challenges and unexpected gifts.
From the beginning of the pandemic ten months ago, we knew that continuing to provide life-giving support to potential moms was an essential service. Our pregnancy center staff suited up with PPE, changed our procedures on a dime, and continued to offer a hopeful presence, listening ear, pregnancy confirmation through testing and ultrasound, consultation with nurses, community resources, and the love and support of a deeply committed group of people firmly rooted in the compassion of Jesus.
This hasn’t been without difficulty. The constantly changing procedures have been exhausting, and our clients come to us with an even greater level of anxiety than what is usual. Your prayers for our staff and clients continue to be critical!
Yet, we have also experienced unexpected gifts. Our staff, spread across four offices and many homes, have been able to pray together virtually three times a week since the beginning of this pandemic. In some ways, we are more connected than we’ve ever been.
We have also been blown away by the extravagant generosity of so many of our supporters. While we have seen declines in giving, as most ministries have, we find ourselves so thankful and hopeful because of people like you who have given in the midst of such uncertain times. The impact that you have made on moms and their littlest ones during this season is hard to overstate.
I’m so grateful for the generosity you’ve already shown us, and how you’ve helped us move confidently into our 2021 vision to unleash compassion toward women facing unsupported pregnancy in our city. To give further, please visit our giving page.
May you experience the joy of seeing lives saved and transformed, in sharing Christ’s compassion, all the more in this new year.
