On-Call Translator

Job Purpose    

The On-Call Translator will advance the mission of FI/PRC in communicating the love of Christ by providing needed language translation for the clients of the Center. They will work to ensure that the Centers are a safe and accessible place for every woman.

Our OTC will be: 

Faithful: Someone who will be committed to be available and willing to meet the translation needs of the center.

Encouraging: A person who seeks to build others up in their faith and calling. 

Reports to

Primary: Center Director 

Secondary: Center Assistant Director  

Qualifications

A thriving relationship with Jesus Christ demonstrated in her/his relationships and responsibilities.

Contagious appetite to learn and grow.

Support First Image in cultivating a culture of generosity by participating in all First Image fundraising events and actively inviting others to partner in the work of the ministry through volunteering and giving. 

Navigator

Job Purpose  

The Navigator will advance the mission of FI/PRC in communicating the love of Christ by providing knowledgeable help of the resources and support of the community for our clients and will help to further the understanding of PRC’s services with our community resource partners.

Our Navigator will be: 

A researcher:  Someone who is able to gather, retain and share resources with our clients. 

A communicator: Someone who is able to share our mission and services with community partners to further strengthen our partnerships.

Reports to 

Primary: Center Director 

Secondary: Administrative Assistant 

Responsibilities  

Meet with clients and help them navigate the community resources available to them.  

Help, build and maintain relationships with community resource partners.   

Investigate and develop new resources that would be useful for our clients  

Assist the Administrative Assistant and Center Director in evaluating our community resources annually and as needed to reflect ongoing changes in availability of services and resources. 

Perform other related duties as requested by center staff.

Excited and eager to connect with our local community and invite others to partner with us.  

Sufficient computer knowledge and skills to document client information and update community resource files as needed.  

Flexible schedule. Willingness and availability to work with the center director to schedule and attend meetings with community resource members as needed.  

Excellent communication skills with sensitivity to the cultural and religious differences of our clients and community partners.

Time Commitments 

Minimum 4-hour shift per week in the center with opportunity for more. 

2-4 Hours per month for community resource meetings. 

2 and ½ days of Essentials and New Volunteer training. 

Attendance at in-service trainings. 

Minimum one-year commitment requested.

Support Volunteer

Job Purpose  

The purpose of the Practical Service Volunteer will be to advance the mission of First Image in communicating the love of Christ by providing practical help for the center on an as-needed basis. 

Our Support Volunteer will be: 

Generous: Someone who is willing to use their skills and resources in the service of the Center’s needs.

Creative: Someone who is able to see a need and provide for that need within PRC parameters and guidelines. 

Reports to 

Primary: Center Director 

Secondary: Assistant Director  

The Responsibilities of this role will be unique to the availability and skills of the volunteer.   

Service opportunities may include: 

Laundry: Launder donated baby and maternity clothes 

Expectantly Yours Room:  Organize, sort and hang donated baby clothes items, Make baby baskets and older baby layettes. 

Maternity Closet:  Sort and hang maternity clothes attractively; Restock seasonally; Clean and straighten maternity closet. 

Cleaning:  Deep clean centers monthly, quarterly or annually. 

Pick-up and Delivery: Transport supplies and donations to/ from HQ or Centers where needed.

Landscape: Keep vegetation abound centers pruned; walkways cleaned and neat; leaves raked etc.

Specialized Skills: Use plumbing, electrical or handyman skills to maintain or fix the center facilities when needs arise. (This would typically be an on-call type of service) 

Qualifications

Contagious appetite to learn and grow. 

Sufficient health and physical ability to safely provide these services in the center.  

Time Commitments 

Minimum of one hour per month service.

Prayer Advocate

Job Purpose  

The Prayer Advocate will advance the mission of FI/PRC in communicating the love of Christ by providing needed spiritual warfare, upholding the staff, volunteers and clients of the Centers. Someone who would help grow a prayer network for First Image/PRC 

Our PA will be:

Faithful: Someone who will be committed to regular, diligent prayer. 

Encouraging: A person who seeks to build others up in their faith and calling. 

Reports to  

Primary: Center Director 

Secondary: Director of Events and Engagement 

Responsibilities

Committed to regular, faithful prayer

Willingness to pray in emergency situations outside of regular schedule for clients in crisis.

Qualifications

A thriving relationship with Jesus Christ demonstrated in her/his relationships and responsibilities. 

Desire and enthusiasm to provide vital prayer and spiritual support to the ministry.

Sufficient computer knowledge and skills to communicate via email and video chat with the First Image staff.

Part of a church prayer group.

Aligned with First Image’s mission, vision, core values, and core convictions.

Time Commitments

Weekly check in for prayer requests.

Practical Service Volunteer

Job Purpose

Client Services Advocate

Job Purpose  

The Client Services Advocate will advance the mission of the Center in communicating the love of Christ by providing practical help, resources and support to our clients throughout their pregnancies.

Our CSA will be: 

A compassionate listener:  Someone who is able to listen well, encourage, pray, and share the gospel with women during what may be a challenging time in their lives.

A servant: Someone who is enthusiastic about caring for women and babies with their practical needs and is able to assess and prioritize her needs.

Reports to 

Primary: Center Director 

Secondary: Assistant Director 

Responsibilities  

Greet clients cordially, helping them to feel comfortable while completing a service intake in an atmosphere of confidentiality and professionalism; praying with clients if appropriate.

Explain the services provided by PRC, encouraging clients to continue with any practical help we offer as well as be familiar with our many community resources available for other services they may need. Assist the staff in managing the material goods disbursement.

Explain the services available and refer clients to our Navigator and Life Coaches when appropriate.

Offer and assist clients with timely lessons through the Bright Course Catalogue.

Regularly perform follow-up calls with clients, keeping them engaged and feeling supported. Track client’s utilization of the courses sent to them.

Keep accurate records of conversations, referrals and material items given out.

Perform other related duties as requested by center staff.

Sufficient computer knowledge and skills to document client information and physical capabilities to carry baby baskets and baby equipment as needed.

Time Commitments 

Minimum one six-hour shift per week during center hours with potential for more. 

Additional one to four hours per month for ongoing training and development Attendance at in-service trainings 

Minimum one-year commitment

Chat Line Advocate

Job Purpose  

The purpose of the Chat Line Advocate will advance the mission of FI/PRC in communicating the love of Christ by providing accurate information about the services provided.

Our CLA will be: 

Faithful: Someone who is able to convey accurate information about PRC services 

Knowledgeable: Someone who will continue to learn and grow

Reports to 

Primary:Program Coordinator 

Responsibilities  

Accountabilities: 

Answer questions anyone may have about PRC needs and services provided.

Occasionally (do we want them to be able to make appointments or is this strictly informational) 

Qualifications

Prior Peer Counselor/Client Advocate experience preferred.

A thriving relationship with Jesus Christ demonstrated in her/his relationships and responsibilities.

Responsible for time management.

Internet access and ability to type quickly.

Aligned with First Image’s; mission, vision, core values, and core convictions.

Time Commitments 

Normally a four-hour shift one day per week, but not limited to that. Can be in the center or from home with approved computer.  

Attendance at in-service trainings. 

Minimum one-year commitment requested.

Support That Volunteers May expect from PRC

Training program prior to assignment. 

Ongoing training and continued education. 

Prayer support by the staff and other volunteers. 

Resources provided at the center. 

Yearly review of performance. 

Volunteer Coordinator

Job Purpose   

The Volunteer Coordinator will advance the mission of the First Image by supporting the DOE and PRC Directors in managing the need for volunteers and helping to create a culture of service and generosity at First Image/PRC.

Our Volunteer Coordinator will be:

Encouraging: Someone who is willing to use their skills and time to encourage the staff and volunteers of First Image.

Relational: Someone who desires and is able to connect and collaborate with others to further the engagement of our volunteers and partners with the mission and vision of First Image.

Reports to 

Primary: Director of Engagement 

Secondary: PRC Directors

Responsibilities  

Support First Image in cultivating a culture of generosity by engaging and encouraging the First Image volunteers.  

Help to organize and host volunteer trainings and social gatherings.  

Assist the DOE and PRC Directors in appreciation and regular communication with the current volunteers.

Qualifications 

A thriving relationship with Jesus Christ demonstrated in her/his relationships and  

A servant attitude and willingness to build relationships with First Image staff and volunteers. 

Flexible schedule. Willingness and availability to work with the staff to schedule and attend meetings and gatherings with volunteers as needed.

Time Commitments 

2-4 Hours per month for volunteer events and meetings.  

Attendance at in-service trainings.

One thing I wish people knew about the work in the (Pregnancy Resource Centers) is it really takes a village to run each Center. Whether it’s lifting the staff up in prayer each day, donating funds or baby items, volunteering, laundry service, supplies for the nurses and much more, the needs are great.
