Heidi came to Ava Health to take a pregnancy test. During her appointment, she said that she couldn’t have a baby because her family would be very judgmental of her and wasn’t certain how supportive her partner would be.
When seeing that her test was positive, she was open to discussing options. As we talked, she shared her disappointment in God, and I was able to share some comforting truths about the Lord to provide hope and pray with her. While in the ultrasound, it appeared that Heidi was further along than she expected, and you could see the emotions welling up in her as she looked at the screen. Heidi knew she couldn’t abort this baby. The reality of the ultrasound made all the difference as she bonded with her child. The window to the womb is truly a miracle. It was now just a matter of finding the courage to tell her parents.

There was still some uncertainty when Heidi left on whether she would carry her baby to term. When I followed up with her later, she shared that she had given her family the news. Though it was hard, they are okay with it now. She is now looking forward to the birth of her baby. The Lord goes before and prepares the way!
