I saw a young woman for an ultrasound who was very abortion minded. Cara’s life was filled with tough situations, and her husband was adamant towards abortion.

She cried throughout the ultrasound, while open to the information we presented to her. Her heart seemed soft and yet at the same time, there was a resolve that seemed impermeable. Emily left her ultrasound still intent on abortion.

Many months later, she came to us again asking for me. When I went downstairs, Cara was beaming from ear to ear. “Hi, do you remember me?” she asked excitedly. “I just had to tell you that I had my baby. His name is Jarod, and having him is the best decision I have ever made. And my husband is absolutely crazy about him. I want you to thank you for all that you did. You really encouraged me. It was good to hear that I had at least one person cheering for me. My husband and I drive by here from time to time, and I keep telling him that I need to stop in to thank you.”

“I need to stop in to thank you.”

We don’t always get to know the outcomes of these appointments right away. At Ava, we are reminded often to trust in the Lord that He is working even if we don’t see it. In this case, we received just a glimpse of His faithfulness in how He restored this woman’s family. We believe that God is continuing to work in our patient’s lives even after they leave from their appointment.
